Join our Unique
Two-Hour Cultural Adventure
It's more than just a tour, It’s about whānau
Visitors may arrive as individuals, but in our culture, manuhiri (guests) leave as whānau (family).
You're not just invited to explore — you're invited to belong, to connect, and to return.
Experience Times
Summer: 3 daily departures – 9:30am, 12:00pm, 3:00pm
Winter: 1 daily departure – 11:00am only
Your Experience Awaits
Whether you seek adventure, culture, eco-tourism, or leisure, we have a waka experience designed to meet your needs.
Step aboard a traditional Māori waka (canoe) and take part in a two-hour immersive cultural journey, led by our whānau. This rare opportunity, once limited to a select few, is now open to all who are ready to take on the challenge.

Waka Discovery Includes:
Two-hour paddling experience with full safety briefing
Authentic storytelling from local Māori guides sharing the rich history and migration stories of our ancestors
Traditional chants, salutes, waiata (songs), and te reo Māori weaving a cultural connection that lasts long after the paddle ends
Breathtaking scenery and unforgettable photo moments as we paddle across the stunning lakes and rivers (awa) of Rotorua
All you need is a willingness to titiro (look) and whakarongo (listen) — our knowledge, passed down from our tūpuna (ancestors), will do the rest.
